Because of this, the threat of a split in society and chaos looms over the earth..The king's brother took over the regency after none of the 3 princes were ready to take the throne. The regent immediately turned to the High Council to communicate with neutral and influential sorcerers who belong to the oldest faction. The current king only wants to protect his own people. The protagonist is a descendant of the ancient Rosenkreuz family, a member of the High Council, who was recently appointed mentor of the royal prince.Before starting the passage, the player chooses the gender of the central character and customizes the appearance. After that, you have to go down to the Eskian's labyrinth in order to go through numerous monsters and enemies. In the course of the plot, the gamer is able to make choices, which will affect the further development of the story. There are 8 endings in the process. By fighting and defeating enemies, the protagonist earns experience, which is spent on improving two skill trees. Here you can find a couple of 3 minor characters and go on dates with them in your free time from battles.

The interwoven intrigue within the game keeps players on tenterhooks, where every decision has its own consequences.There's a romantically thought-out element in Royal Alchemist, where relationships with princes or other characters can be chased after to build emotional depth into the political drama. While in most otome games, it's simply romance, in Royal Alchemist, these are fitted so deftly into the larger story that they don't seem like tacked-on elements at all. The tightrope act between power struggles and personal relationships is probably one of the strongest points within this game, guaranteed to make each playthrough unique and meaningful. Add to that the survival factor, and it can get downright complicated.

Probably the main feature of Royal Alchemist, though, would be the intricate world of Eskia. In this high-fantasy setting, with magic, political intrigue, and courtly drama, players are held in a world where everything has consequences. The story seemed to be well-written and had enough twists throughout to keep things interesting from start to finish. The challenge will fall in juggling the court's demands with the development of the princes and the looming threat of rebellion.Compared with the other visual novels, Royal Alchemist adds a mixture of romance, political intrigue, and survival mechanics. Games like Fate/Stay Night REMASTERED have, in their theme, an element about power struggles and the supernatural or magical fighting, yet Royal Alchemist differentiates itself through its raising simulation aspect and how player choices manifest their direct impact on the fate of the kingdom. There are eight different endings, which provide sufficient replay value. These multiple endings reflect the choices one has made during the game: whether it is whom you allied with, which love interests you courted, or how far you managed to keep the princes safe. The amount of choices here allows for repeated replays so one can see everything.

I think this game is really enjoyable!I am not sure how effective it would be upon replay, due to the nature of it being a stat building game. I know I was tiring a bit of all the finessing by the end of my Serin playthrough. Honestly though the characters are really enjoyable, I remember when I played this game a few years ago I romanced Aurelius before there was any in depth guides and was lost on how to get a good ending. If I plan to replay this game in the future, I am definitely going to find a way to just change all the stats to max so I can just see what I missed since I am mostly interested in the story/characters and I haven't played Nazir's route.I think it's a solid 8/10, I'd recommend it if the stat building aspect isn't a deterrent, the characters are some of the better written within the 'otome' game genre and I had a lot of fun being able to identify as nonbinary! That is a rare treat with this kind of game, so I don't want to under-appreciate that!
